I gave a designer’s challenge over at Pixel Scrapper to make a Valentine’s Day mini-kit with a less-common color palette, and I’m giving my own kit out here. I really love this palette, so, as usual with palettes I love, I ended up going a little overboard compared to the 5-ish papers and 15-20 elements that I asked for in the challenge. I ended up with a whopping 9 papers and 27 elements…and that’s before I made some clusters with them! Here’s the preview for the basic elements. (Image is linked to larger view; download links are further down the post.)
The clusters are included with the elements kit. I really love the way these turned out! There’s a little bit of a mix of styles here, but they make for some great additions to layouts! I’ve included a clipping mask for the floral wreath frame since it’s an odd shape and a simple circle won’t work.
I’m pretty happy with the papers, too. I’m especially fond of the watercolor floral and the foil-stamped ombre. The blue and brown lined pattern is from my Hand-Drawn Papers #1 kit; it’s a few years old now, but I still love the paper patterns I drew up because they make such nice everyday papers. The pink folded paper was made with one of the templates from my recent Folded Papers #1 release; I also used the sanded fold overlay included in that kit.
I spent some time playing around with the kit and built these quickpages, too; they’re linked in their own download. I just LOVE the way they turned out, and I think the kit works together quite nicely for a variety of layout styles; how about you?
Now that you’ve got my kit, you absolutely should go over to the challenge thread at PixelScrapper; some of the other designers chose palettes that will coordinate with mine, and they’ve made some gorgeous kits that will add nicely to your stash!
